Ingredients
3 pounds bosh pears (5 large pears) peeled cored and sliced
2 cups pomegranate arils
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp corn starch
Nonstick cooking spray
Crust Ingredients
1 cup flour
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp unsalted butter, chilled and cut into pieces
1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- In a large bowl combine pears, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well, add pomegranate arils and corn starch.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl combine crust ingredients; flour, sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Blend in butter with your fingers until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. Stir in water until.
- Drop spoonfuls of topping over the pear and mixture. Bake 30-40 minutes.
